The Environmental Media Association’s annual awards gala brings together an array of famous personalities with an eye on environmental issues. In October, Fusion went behind the scenes at the event in Burbank, CA, to talk  to attendees about what makes the cause important to them, and what sort of action they are taking.

Hosted by actor, producer and former NSYNC’er Lance Bass, the esteemed crowd also included “Twilight” and “Under the Dome” actress Rachel Lefevre; environmental advocate, civil rights activist and former White House "green jobs czar," Van Jones; model Karrueche Tran; "Mad Max" writer, producer, and director George Miller; actress and model Dawn Olivieri, and more.


Nicolás Ibargüen is an environmentalist and director of the Planet Initiative of the Americas Business Council Foundation, an organization that supports innovative social and environmental impact projects.

He is the environmental Correspondent for Fusion and Univision.

Nicolás organizes expeditions and events with world leaders to raise awareness about our relationship with the planet. He produced the award-winning documentary “Amazon Gold” and he is a board member of NRDC’s Voces Verdes and the Humane Society International. He was the Editor and Publisher of Poder Magazine.
